Sramadana Mawatha – Kirindiwela

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the road carpeting project at Sramadana Mawatha, Kirindiwela. This 1.5 km stretch of roadway, located in a rural setting yet serving as a vital shortcut to the city, has been fully upgraded to provide safer, smoother, and faster access for the local community.

Project Overview

The road was previously in poor condition, creating difficulties for both vehicles and pedestrians. Our objective was to deliver a high-quality, durable road surface that would not only improve day-to-day travel but also support the area’s economic and social activities by strengthening its connection to the nearby city.

Work Process

  1. Initial Site Preparation
    • Cleared and cleaned the road stretch to remove debris, vegetation, and uneven surfaces.
    • Assessed the existing ground conditions to ensure stability before further work.
  2. Motor Grading & Leveling
    • A motor grader was used to precisely level and shape the roadbed.
    • Proper alignment and slope were established to facilitate smooth drainage and ensure road longevity.
  3. Compaction & Base Preparation
    • Applied a strong base layer and compacted it thoroughly to provide a firm foundation.
    • This step was essential to handle the future load of vehicles and resist surface damage.
  4. Road Carpeting
    • High-quality asphalt carpeting was laid evenly across the 1.5 km stretch.
    • Special care was taken to achieve a smooth, uniform finish for both durability and driving comfort.
  5. Final Finishing & Safety Checks
    • Inspected the entire road for quality standards.
    • Ensured edges, junctions, and curves were properly finished to improve safety for vehicles and pedestrians.

Professional Supervision

The entire project was carried out under the guidance and supervision of engineers and technical staff from the Road Development Authority (RDA). Their expertise and oversight ensured that all work met the required standards and best practices in road construction.
